Senior editor Scott Stuckey chooses cars over chocolate. What?!? He reports:
I'd just downed a half-pound bag of candy while watching a 3-D movie featuring kick-stepping chocolate bars when I realized there can be too much of a good thing. Earlier, when we'd checked into our hotel in Hershey, Pennsylvania, we were issued free chocolate.
We'd marveled at the Hershey Kiss-shaped lampposts along the streets. We spent hours in Chocolate World, where my four-year-old daughter got to pack candy on an assembly line and take a faux factory tour with singing cows. We sat through the rags-to-Reese's story of Milton Hershey, America's favorite chocolatier.
Finally, Dad had had enough.I headed us out of town to the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, where muscle cars, such as this overpowered 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, spun seductively on huge turntables. Now this was sweet indeed. Inside, filling three display floors, were internally combusted dream machines running the gamut from Packards and Pierce-Arrows to Cords and Corvettes. There were antique buses, a mobile diner, a re-created service station complete with the bell cord we used to stomp on as kids. Best of all, my wife and daughter got almost as revved as I did, especially when I shot their photos posing with the 'sit-in' fleet of vehicles that included an old Caddy and a cute little roadster.
